18/8 PREMIUM STAINLESS STEEL
18/8 premium stainless steel is a type of stainless steel that contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel. This type of stainless steel is commonly used in food processing and medical equipment, as well as in the production of high-quality water bottles, such as the Iron Flask Sports Water Bottle. The 18% chromium content in this steel provides excellent resistance to corrosion and rust, while the 8% nickel content gives the steel a lustrous and polished appearance. Additionally, 18/8 stainless steel is 100% BPA-free and non-toxic, making it a safe and durable material for water bottles and other food-related products.
Comparisons between 18/8 premium stainless steel and other
There are many different types of stainless steel, each with its own unique composition and properties. Here are some comparisons between 18/8 premium stainless steel and other common stainless steel grades:
- 18/10 stainless steel: This type of stainless steel contains 18% chromium and 10% nickel, making it slightly more corrosion-resistant than 18/8 stainless steel. However, it is also more expensive and not as commonly used in water bottles.
- 304 stainless steel: This is a general-purpose stainless steel that contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel, similar to 18/8 stainless steel. It is commonly used in kitchen appliances, automotive parts, and other applications where corrosion resistance is important.
- 316 stainless steel: This is a high-performance stainless steel that contains 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel, and 2-3% molybdenum. It is even more corrosion-resistant than 18/8 stainless steel and is commonly used in marine and chemical processing applications.
Overall, 18/8 premium stainless steel is a high-quality and versatile material that is well-suited for use in water bottles and other food-related products. It offers a good balance of corrosion resistance, durability, and affordability.
My Review on IRON °FLASK Sports Water Bottle
One of the standout features of this bottle is the multiple lids that come with it. This is such a convenient addition as it allows me to use this bottle for almost all of my beverage needs. I no longer have to switch between different bottles for different drinks, which is a game-changer for me.
The materials used in this bottle are also impressive. I particularly appreciate that it is soda safe, as I have had bad experiences with metal cups affecting the flavor of my soda. But with this bottle, I can confidently say that it works. However, I do want to caution others to be careful with the lid choice when dealing with carbonated drinks, as the carbonation could cause some leaking or even a small explosion.
Since getting this bottle, I have not experienced a single leak, which is a testament to its excellent design and construction. It has helped me significantly cut down on buying other bottles and has made it much easier for me to stay hydrated throughout the day.
I have tried various other bottles, including off-brand, cheap, and even expensive ones like Yeti tumblers. However, this Iron Flask bottle has sealed the deal for me. While the insulation is decent, I must note that I am not a coffee person, so if you are, do your research to see if this bottle would meet your needs.
Overall, I would give this bottle a 4/5 rating only because cleaning the lids can be a bit of a challenge. But, even with that said, I cannot be happier with my purchase. To top it off, I even got an extra straw and a sticker with my purchase, which was a pleasant surprise.
